Lizard King’s work has been known to be ‘depressing but hopeful’. It hovers around the axiom that we can’t get to joy without digging through despair, looking it in the face and giving it a name. Her newer work seeks to chronicle the quotidian miracle of being alive- and even finds humor in the ordinary miseries.
Liz Liano, lizard king, has been hosting recovery centered music and poetry shows for the last 7 years in las cruces- Lizard Glitter shows. she hopes to build community and remove some of the stigma around the things you are too afraid to say. Lizard Glitter is a composite of every poet, musician and audience member who lets the light in. she dreams of a world that is a little less lonely.
